  • P1040497Tarrick Twilight, a long time comrade in arms, is known for giving out plushies as birthday gifts. This is a long and glorious tradition that he’s had  for the past several years. Typically the plushies would fall in line with whichever anime series that particular person enjoyed and he’d find the most appropriate character to represent us.

He first started the tradition by giving me Lord Sesshomaru from Inuyasha. Now, I love Lord Sesshomaru, and he still holds a place in my heart, and I never thought Tarrick would ever be able to find something that would top him in his awesomeness.

    I was wrong.

Last Saturday, have gave me "The Penguin." "The Penguin" is pretty much the awesomest gift… yet*. He’s a little taller then a foot in height and… he just so awesome. The picture here just does no justice to him. It makes him look rather chubby when in reality he is this tall regal being.

I do have this unexplainable love for penguins. Not as strong as my quizzerlings would believe but it’s still there. It started after watching The Toy Who Saved Christmas and seeing how they were using penguins as a work force. Ever since then conscripting an army of penguins to take over the world has been one of my greatest ambitions in life.

I brought "The Penguin" into quiz last Thursday to show him off to Mudslide and some of the quizzerlings. Little did I suspect though that "The Penguin" would become an instant hit with the lady folk! He quickly become a prisoner of love! The attentions shown to him would make any man envious!

Needless to say, "The Penguin" is a very fitting companion for one such as myself. "The Penguin" does have his own email account at "thecharmingpenguin@gmail.com" so his fans -can- get a hold of him. He would also appreciate people helping him come up with a name for himself as "The Penguin" just doesn’t cut it. He thanks all his supporters in advance and is looking forward to your ideas.

    * You still have time! My birthday is on the 24th~

Beowulf Earlier this year, I got together with my friends to watch the epic, ancient Anglo-Saxon turned movie Beowulf. I’ve always been a fan of epic conflict, of heroes rising up to defend their honor and surpass immeasurable trials - even to the point of losing their life. The lone man fighting his way back home, marching endlessly through the winter colds, and waging war against all who come between him and his wife and family are stories that stir up passion in every young boy’s heart.

Beowulf though… there was no honor to be found. A prideful womanizer who sought only glory for himself is no hero. Who, due to his own selfish ambitions, brought the death of many of his own companions in his quest for his tale. Nay, despite all his proclamations of greatness, in the end, he was reduced to be but a mere man. Even he himself understood how hollow he was at the end when he asks his queen to remember him “not as a hero, but as a man, fallible and flawed”.

  • Breaking the covenant made with your wife before the eyes of the Lord is a grievous event in any situation and one that, as believers, we don’t have as an option. The Art of Manliness offers several sound ways to guard the sanctity of your marriage and help "affair proof" it. (0)

It has come to the attention to The Blog that some recent posts have stirred quite the controversy amongst The Blog’s faithful readership. While The Blog has no intention of retracting the statement made nor in apologizing for anything except perhaps the confusion generated, The Blog does feel that some order of explanation may be needed as there seemed to be some misconceptions being formed.

On the night of March 13th, one FiveIronAna decided to leave herself logged into her blog on the personal computer of one Aaron while she was transferring from his residence to return to her own. Upon notification of this opportunity, we (being Aaron and Trebonte) realized we had to act quick as she would receive access to the internet in short order.

  • "For the only courage worth calling courage must necessarily mean that the soul passes a breaking point and does not break." G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy (0)

I would like to take a moment of your time to present to you a dear, dear friend of mine. He’s like the brother that I almost had. Counterparts in crime and mischief, comrades in adventuring, brothers in arms, it’s hard to separate us.

However he’s battling through something that I can’t help him through and it just pains me to see him suffer. You see… my dear friend is single. Yes, that’s right: single. For reasons not understood by me, he’s somehow managed to escape the radar of every lady in existence. Which is probably good for as soon as they realize that he’s there…. he’d have to beat them off with a stick. Seriously.

He’s a great man, rugged looks, charming personality, has a strong passion and vision, thinker of deep thoughts, with eyes that, when you look into them, you -know- that he’s only thinking of you. He’s prime real estate if I were to use such a crude phrase.

All you available ladyfolk should go check him out. I’m sure you’ll love what you see.

But don’t my word for it. Apparently my co-best friend has also taken pity on him. So you have an actual female’s perspective on him so you can have a more objective opinion.

Using the Gender Guesser tool as shown by openswitch, I am most decidedly a "male" writer.

Genre: Informal
Female = 1091 Male = 1735 Difference = 644; 61.39%
Verdict: MALE

Using some more articles to get a more accurate report, my writing style seems to hover at 60% male with room for about a 7% variation either way. This is for informal writing which almost the entirety of my blog consists of.

It’d be interesting to do a more indepth analysis of my writing over various periods and stages of my life to see what sort of changes went along there.

This tool isn’t 100% accurate but it is rather useful to see the differences.
