I received back the results of my second midterm today and they are Not Good. Not good at all.

My econ test pretty much was a failure as I left my calculator at home and when it came to do equation busting I got lost in my own math. Entire pages were scribbled in numbers and symbols. I’d start on something, realize it was wrong and work at it another way, repeating this process many times. I got confused at the sheer amount of numbers that I wrote down and mixed stuff up. Ugh… In the end I broke down the problems into the equations that they needed to be in to correctly solved and all that needed to be done was to simplify by punching it into a calc. I no longer had the time nor page space to finish that last bit so I left it as is. Apparently TAs don’t appreciate that. On a side note: I find it rather frustrating that a teacher delegates test grading to a TA. Ugh…

  • And here’s another example that good employers will do indepth research into not only your resume and personal contacts but into your online identity as well. Perhaps boasting about winning the beer chugging contest at your latest party won’t help so much. And I approve. Employers have the right to weed through potential employees and the internet is a valid resource for that. It is rather hard though to view the internet like that though. (1)
